TECH Outreach Malaysia has been supporting disadvantaged communities in Nepal since 2013, namely, a savings and credit scheme for income generation projects to empower widows; an orphanage with 20 children abandoned by a Swedish NGO; and the sponsorship of basic amenities at schools in rural Sindhuli under the Bridging School Project.
The recent earthquake has caused much damage to the schools, buildings, homes and other properties in Nepal, mainly Kathmandu. Death toll has gone up to 974 and relief efforts are uncovering more damage and loss of lives and injured victims. Several of our international partners need help responding to survivors’ immediate needs, and our local nonprofit partners have also asked for help in funding their relief and recovery efforts on the ground.
We at TECH Outreach Malaysia are initiating a Special Fund called “EARTHQUAKE NEPAL RELIEF FUND” to raise funds to help survivors affected by the earthquake. The funds, in the words of Ms. Goma Devi Bastola, President of our Partner NGO in Nepal, RUWON Nepal, will go towards medical treatment, food and needs of survivors affected by the earthquake.
This is an appeal to your support and goodwill to help us bring relief to the affected victims during this trying period. All donations to this fund will support immediate disaster recovery and relief efforts to meet survivors’ needs for food, clean water, hygiene products, fuel and shelter.
